Research Interest
  • Research interest in fiber laser, photonic crystal fiber & supercontinuum generation, nonlinear optics and ultrafast pulse dynamics in guided medium, nonlinear soliton dynamics in guided medium, and plasmonics and metamatrials

Professional Career
  • Participated and completed training course on vacuum science, techniques and applications under UNESCO programme at Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Bombay University during 1978-79
  • Worked as analytical and quality control supervisor in Carl Zeiss Instruments in analytical and planetary optics division during 1980-83
  • Continuing as Research Scientist since 1984 in Fibre Optics and Photonics Division

  • Obtained Deokaran award in Glass in 1988 by Indian Ceramic Society.
  • Obtained Royal Society award project in 2009 with Heriot Watt University
  • Editor - Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society from 2007
