Research Interest
  • Materials Sciences related to the development of different specialty optical fibres with special references to optical amplifier , fiber lasers, FBG based components and devices, fibre optic based radiation sensor and advanced rare earth doped nano-crystalline host based optical fibers for high power fiber laser and up-conversion laser.

  • Awarded for doing R & D Collaboration with Multimedia University, Malaysia on "Development and Characterization of visible upconversion fiber laser based on modified silica host" under Brain Gain Malaysia Programme of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysia

  • Developed gain-flattened EDF for EDFA Module made by OJ Optics, Cochin
  • Developed high radiation sensitive optical fiber for use as radiation sensor in Fibre Optics Dosimeter.

  • Developed Yb2O3-doped nanostructured fiber for high power laser application.
