Research Interest
Research and development of scratch resistant hard and AR coatings on plastic substrates, hydrophobic/superhydrophobic coatings on glass, plastic and metals, and metal doped optical coatings for solar glass applications. Optical, electrical and magnetic properties of nanocomposites. nanocomposite dielectric thin films, ordered mesoporous coatings coloured coatings, conductive coatings. semiconductor nanoparticles, nonlinear optical materials and nanocomposite materials for optical and electronic device applications.

Landmark Research Contribution
Developed scratch resistant coatings on polycarbonate sheets of dimensions 2 feet x 2 feet using conveyorised UV curing machine and thermal curable (90-95°C) hard coatings on CR-39 grade plastics ophthalmic lenses, developed antireflective (AR) and refractive index controlled coatings on plastics, metal NPs doped tunable coloured coatings, hydrophobic to super-hydrophobic coatings on glass and plastic substrates, refractive index (1.48-1.65) controlled coatings on plastics for scratch healing purpose, corrosion resistant hard and hydrophobic coatings on metals (MS and Al), developed antireflective (AR) cum hydrophobic coatings composition for ordered mesoporous silica on textured solar cover glasses to increase photo-current with easy maintenance and developed reflective coatings on glass substrate. A process entitled "Anti-scratch coatings on plastic ophthalmic lenses" has been transferred to the industries.
