Landmark Research Contribution
Established Fuel Cell & Battery Division in CGCRI on 1st December 2004 which has world class laboratory facilities to carry out advanced research work in the area of energy materials, their fabrication, characterizations and working devices. CGCRI is now identified as the lead Institute in India for its notable contribution in the area of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) research and technology development. Successfully developed and demonstrated, for the first time in the country, several 500 W class working SOFC stacks using in-house fabricated and patented SOFC single cells, high temperature thermally cyclable glass sealant and field flow design for fuel and oxidant flow.
