Ceramic Bio-medical Implants
Conventional hip prothesis comprises of three components: accetabular cup of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, a femoral head and a stem each made out of metal. It has limited life span and is not suitable for younger patients. CGCRI has developed an improved version which comprises of accetabular cup, femoral head both made of ceramic material

First human trial of new generation implant done at AIMS, New Delhi. Further research under progress
