New technologies/ know-how/ product development activities:
Third generation ceramic composite material based on new ZTA composition with superior fracture toughness for hip/knee and dental implant applications.
Novel ion doped HAp with enhanced bioactivity and osseointegration for use as granules, powder, blocks, scaffolds and coatings on metal implants for orthopedic/dental applications.
Novel osteoinductive functional biocomposite scaffold/implants based on CaS/ CaP/ Bioactive glass/ Polymer matrix to accelerate bone/tissue healing.
Industrially viable in-situ synthesized Ti-TiB-TiN composite coatings using plasma spraying for wear resistance implant applications.
Use of additive manufacturing for customized implants and designed scaffolds of BAG/CaP for bone cancer, trauma and maxillofacial applications.
Infection resistance implants with enhanced osseointegration using two-step electrochemical treatment.
Uncoventional approach to treat cancer or improve current treatment efficiency using ultrasound and magnetic fields.
The research group earned strong research funding (Rs. 4304 Lakhs worth on-going projects; Rs. 2719 Lakhs worth projects under consideration).
