Chemistry, Glass and ceramic coatings, Materials Sciences with special references to Biomaterials, Biomedical implants, Drug delivery system, in-vitro and in-vivo performance evaluation to humans. Ceramic Engineering (starting from raw-material, powder synthesis, processing, characterization).

Landmark Research Contribution
Best research contribution is development of high temperature resistant glass ceramic coatings for hot zone components of gas turbine engines used in aeronautical applications. Every MIG fighter aircrafts in Indian Army use this technology for production and maintenance. One corrosion resistant plug free glass lining coating technology developed and commercialized through private industry. Series of bioactive glass compositions developed which is being commercialized through another private industry. Metallization and active metal brazing technology was developed for fabrication of different components of electron tubes. Different bioactive materials, coated and uncoated biomedical implants including all ceramic hip prosthesis, dental implants, porous drug eluting scaffolds and bone filler materials was developed and commercialized.
