Major Activities
The Optical Glass Plant comprises an indigenously designed developed in-house facility for raw material processing & mixing; pot fabrication; pot pre-heating; glass melting pot; slumping & annealing furnaces as also glass cutting, grinding & polishing. Processes and equipments have been upgraded with precise programmable controllers. Presently 46 specially skilled personnel are engaged in its different activities.
Current Activities
Development & production of various types of optical glasses like Dense, Extra Dense Flint (upto 50% PbO by weight, Light, Medium & Dense Barium (upto 45% BaO by weight). Radiation Shielding Window (RSW) glass slabs are also produced for g and X-ray protection. Radiation resistant optical components tailor made to specific requirements can also be fabricated.
