ABOUT US
The CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI), Kolkata is a constituent unit of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). An autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology of the Government of India, the CSIR works in diverse domains of physical, chemical, biological, engineering and information sciences. The mandate of the organization is to bolster innovation through basic and applied R&D; development and deployment of technologies; and facilitate competitiveness of Indian industry through capacity strengthening.

CSIR-CGCRI is also the hosting organization of the TePP Outreach cum Cluster Innovation Centre (TOCIC), Kolkata of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Government of India. This Centre serves as a one-stop facilitation point for small entrepreneurs, MSMEs and other innovators. Supported with various other collateral government schemes, the TOCICs are poised to play a major role in augmenting innovation within the Indian MSME sector.
This helpdesk is designed, managed and maintained by the Business Development and Publications Group of CSIR-CGCRI in association with the TePP Outreach cum Cluster Innovation Centre, Kolkata. It envisages to provide single-window information to prospective innovators and entrepreneurs particularly from the local MSME sector to enhance their intellectual property assets in one or more of the following ways:
- Online consultancy on problems related to IP
- Information about extant IP rules and procedures
- IP Trends and data on identified industrial sectors
- Electronic contents to enhance knowledge and IP awareness among stakeholders
- Connect stakeholders with appropriate organizations to facilitate filing of IP
