The Cluster Chair will provide overall coordination, supervision and functional integration of the activities assigned to the 2IE Cluster, and will ensure appropriate coordination among the constituent functions.

A. Key Responsibilities of Project Monitoring & Evaluation (PME) / IP Coordination:

R&D and project planning, proposal scrutiny and registration.
Project monitoring, evaluation, coordination and closure.
Project implementation, governance and documentation.
Project Audit in consultation with Cluster Secretariat.
Financial and budget monitoring, including fund/expenditure tracking.
Maintenance of project databases, records and management information.
Coordination of externally funded and sponsored projects.
IPR coordination and support to ISTAG-related activities.
Research Council, Management Council and institutional governance support.
Preparation and submission of CSIR, DARPAN, KPI, Parliamentary, RTI and other reports.
Audit, compliance and technical query coordination.
Coordination with CSIR HQ, scientists, finance, purchase and funding agencies.
Support for publications, dissemination, outreach, training and institutional communication.

B. Key Responsibilities of Business Development Group (BDG):

Industry, client and stakeholder liaison and engagement.
Identification and development of business opportunities.
Technology commercialization, marketing and market-entry support.
Technology transfer, licensing and client development.
Techno-commercial negotiations and facilitation of MoUs, agreements and contracts.
Customer engagement, needs assessment and satisfaction feedback.
Technology assessment, techno-economic feasibility and TRL enhancement support.
Resource mobilization and development of industry/R&D partnerships.
Promotion and dissemination of technologies and R&D services.
Support for incubation, entrepreneurship and startup-related activities.
Industry outreach, exhibitions, presentations and promotional activities.

C. Key Responsibilities of Scientist-in-Charge (SiC), Khurja Centre:

Coordination activities and institutional interface relating to the Khurja Centre under the responsibility of the designated Scientist-in-Charge.

D. Key Responsibilities of Testing & Characterization Cell (TCC):

Coordination of testing and characterization support connected with the CSIR-CGCRI activities and associated requirements.

E. Cross-Functional Coordination:

The functional areas are under appropriate coordination with the Cluster Chair and with one another wherever activities are cross-functional in nature.
